Civic Unlock Requirements

Agriculture chain – Build or upgrade within the Granary or Souterrain chains, or conquer a region with the highest level building in one of these chains.

Industry chain – Build or upgrade within the Forge or Stadfordscir Blacksmith chains, or conquer a region with the highest level building in this chain.

Military Support chain – Build or upgrade within the Garrison chain, or conquer a region with the highest level building in this chain.

Leadership chain – Build or upgrade within the Moot Hill, Law or Thing chains, or conquer a region with the highest level building in one of these chains.

Trade chain – Upgrade within the Market Hall chain, or conquer a region with the highest level building in this chain.

Community chain – Upgrade within the Monastery chain or one of its unique variants, or conquer a region with the highest level building in one of these chains.

Military Unlock Requirements

Melee Units chain – Recruit 10 sword and/or axe infantry units. Units provided by the Garrison building chain also count towards this.

Spearmen Units chain – Recruit 10 spearmen units. Units provided by the Garrison building chain also count towards this.

Missile Units chain – Recruit 10 bow, crossbow, and/or skirmisher units. Units provided by the Garrison building chain also count towards this.

Siege Warfare chain – Win 5 siege battles.

Cavalry Units chain – Recruit 10 cavalry units.

Military Prestige chain – Raise a General to Rank 10.

Bodyguards & Companions chain – Attack another army 10 times.

Recruitment chain:

Infantry Logistics – Research Warrior Society to unlock this technology. (Last node in the Melee Units chain)

Spearband Logistics – Research Traditions of the Spear to unlock this technology. (Last node in the Spearmen Units chain)

Bowmen & Javelinmen Logistics – Research Hunter Society to unlock this technology. (Last node in the Missile Units chain)

Cavalrymen Logistics – Research Horse-Warrior Traditions to unlock this technology. (Last node in the Cavalry Units chain)

 

Technology trees are not faction specific. Differences between the tech trees themselves will be minor and based on the variety in units, buildings and culture mechanics between factions. Some differences will also come from a faction’s natural ability to unlock a chain, whether from unit or building availability. For example, Mide will not be able to access the ‘Trade’ technology chain without inhabiting English lands.
