Here you can find details on becoming a TotalWar.com Affiliate. There are three different tiers of Affiliate ranking available, each offering different benefits.
Troop entry criteria:
  • Open to anyone who wishes to begin a TW dedicated site.
Benefits:
  • Total War Fan Site badge (not yet 'affiliated' see Battalion and above)
  • Fan site kits access to a treasure trove of resources (FTP site)
  • Screenshots, high-res artwork PSD and JPG files, logos, parts of the user interface, html templates,
  • New site will be highlighted on the TW newsletter
  • Link on TW site
Battalion entry criteria:
  • Established for six months and have generated their own content with moderated forum that is constructive and not 'flaming' any of the titles.
  • Example sites: mod sites, clan sites, small to medium fan sites
Benefits:
  • Battalion affiliate badge
  • Troop benefits included
  • 150 word maximum synopsis of the site on TW.com
  • News feed
  • Direct access to the CA Web team through a dedicated thread in the forum
  • Access level given to exclusive assets and content (PR extranet)
  • Exclusive interviews with the development team for your site
Regiment entry criteria:
  • Established for two years with a moderated forum and a large user base
  • User guides on all aspects of game play and strategy
  • Example sites: fully fledged fan sites - totalwar.org. / totalwarcentre.net
Benefits:
  • Regiment affiliate badge
  • Battalion benefits
  • Premium listing with screen shot and review of your site on TW with 100 word synopsis and 200 word of additional text.
  • Invite to official press launch days
  • Exclusive competitions for your users (play gold code preview day)
  • Direct access with the developers through periodical ICQ chats
  • Regiment members blog contribution to main site (via blogger)
Guidelines:
We're always keen to join in alliance with fan sites. Websites that are interested in participating, or those who would like to create a fan site can join our official Affiliates scheme. You'll be required to agree to a couple of guidelines in order to join our mighty Empire:
  1. The content found on these sites must concentrate solely on one or more of the Total War titles and speak about the Total War genre.
  2. Sites must be updated at least once a week.
  3. To apply for either a Battalion or Regiment affiliate level you must conform to the criteria for each level as stated.
  4. The site cannot contain or link to content which violates or encourages violating the terms of use of any of the titles in the Total War catalogue.
In return, fan sites will receive regular updates and heads-up on news along with some additional surprises from time to time!

If you want to set up your own Total War fansite please read the legal agreement. You MUST read the document carefully, but here's a brief overview of what NOT to do when creating a fansite.
When choosing a name for your fansite, try not to use Totalwar or Totalwarrior in the URL. Total War and Total Warrior are trademarks of The Creative Assembly and therefore should not be used without getting permission from us first.
Do not host magazine articles, downloads of TV shows or any other published material - including material from Total War game files - without the prior consent of the copyright owner in question. It's a serious offence and could lead to legal action being taken against you. We'll remove links to such content from the forums and forum members will be banned if they continue to post links to such content.
You are not allowed to just copy pages verbatim from this site, although reasonable use of material from this site (with clear reference to the copyright being held by CA) is acceptable.
